TOKYO, May 22 (UPI) -- Japanese pop star Mayu Tomita has yet to regain consciousness after being stabbed more than two dozen times by a fan.

Halcon Resources Corp announced yesterday that it is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as part of a restructuring agreement with creditors—a move that could wipe out $1.8 billion, or 65 percent, of its debt and $222 million of preferred stock equity.

A manhunt was underway on Sunday in central Massachusetts for a gunman who shot and killed a police officer during a traffic stop just after midnight, state police said.
Ronald Tarentino, a 42-year-old officer in Auburn, Massachusetts, was fatally shot around 12:30 a.m. EDT in the town, which is approximately 50 miles (80 km) west of Boston.
The shooter fled the scene in his vehicle, according to police.

Mayu Tomita, 20, was stabbed dozens of times in the neck and chest after refusing a gift and remains in a critical condition.
