The organization includes Kazakhstan, Türkiye , Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, with several countries holding observer status.
An informal summit of the leaders of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Turkestan this spring. While the primary focus of the meeting was artificial intelligence and digital development, the President of Kazakhstan addressed a much broader range of topics in his speech. Among other things, he spoke on preserving the shared spiritual values of the Turkic world and responded to those who characterize the OTS as a "geopolitical project or military alliance".
