October and November to be warm: government shares weather forecast
Tengrinews.kz - October and November 2026 are expected to be warmer than the climatic norm. The weather outlook for the coming months was presented by Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Alibek Kuantyrov.
What October will be like
Speaking at a government meeting, Kuantyrov said that in October, the average monthly temperature across most of Kazakhstan is expected to be 1–2 degrees above normal.
Temperatures close to the climatic norm are expected in the East Kazakhstan Region, as well as in the northeastern parts of the Pavlodar and Abai regions.
Precipitation across most of the country is expected to remain within the normal range. Above-normal precipitation is forecast:
in the West Kazakhstan Region;in the western parts of the Atyrau and Mangystau regions;in the north of the Aktobe Region;in the northwest of the Kostanay Region.
Below-normal precipitation is expected across the plains of southern and southeastern Kazakhstan, in the south of the central regions, and in the south of the Abai Region.
What is forecast for November
According to the long-range forecast, November is also expected to be warm. Across most of Kazakhstan, air temperatures are expected to be 1–2 degrees above normal.
Precipitation will mostly remain within the normal range. Above-normal precipitation may occur in the North Kazakhstan Region, as well as in the northern parts of the Pavlodar, Akmola and Kostanay regions.
Earlier, forecasters said that mostly dry weather would persist in Kazakhstan in the coming days, but the situation is expected to change on October 1. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast across much of the country, while frost will continue in the northern half.
