Almaty earthquake: Emergency Ministry inspects hazardous areas

Tengrinews.kz - Specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ Kazselezashchita service inspected riverbeds, hydraulic structures, as well as landslide- and mudflow-prone areas following the earthquake in Almaty.
The specialists monitored potentially hazardous areas and visually inspected critical infrastructure facilities to identify any possible damage.

“According to the inspection results, no damage was found. At present, the facilities are operating normally. No reports of destruction or injuries have been received. The situation is stable,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

As a reminder, an earthquake in Almaty occurred on the morning of September 28. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the epicenter of the tremors was located 8 kilometers southwest of Almaty.
The estimated intensity was:

Almaty - 3-4 points,
Kaskelen - 2-3 points,
Boraldai - 2-3 points,
Otegen Batyr village - 2 points.
