How much Kurultai deputies earn: deputy speaker reveals
Tengrinews.kz – Deputy Chair of the Kurultai Daniya Yespayeva revealed the salaries of deputies of the new Kurultai.
During a briefing at the Kurultai, journalists asked what salaries deputies receive.
According to Daniya Yespayeva, deputies’ salaries depend on their length of service and can reach one million tenge.
“At present, deputies’ salaries range from 600,000 to 1 million tenge. If a deputy has extensive work experience, their salary reaches 1 million,” Daniya Yespayeva said.
In January 2026, deputies of the former Senate and Mazhilis published declarations of their own income and that of their spouses. It should be noted that these were not deputies’ salaries. The declarations did not include the salaries of the former lawmakers or their spouses. They only listed additional taxable income: dividends, interest, income from the sale of property and other sources.
How much former Mazhilis deputies earned
There were 98 deputies in the Mazhilis, but only four published their declarations for 2024.
For example, former deputy Yerlan Barlybayev reported 528 million tenge.
Anas Bakkozhayev, a former Mazhilis deputy known for the phrase “I also want to reproduce,” reported no income in his declaration. His wife, Aliya Otarbayeva, earned 4.3 million tenge in 2024.
Meanwhile, the wife of former Deputy Chair of the Mazhilis Albert Rau earned 10 million tenge in a year, while the wife of former Mazhilis deputy Bauyrzhan Smagulov earned 48 million tenge.
Former Mazhilis Speaker Yerlan Koshanov, who has since also left office, previously made his income declaration public. The document stated that his wife, Gulzhan Abauova, received income of 1.5 million tenge in 2024.
How much former Senate deputies earned
Of 50 senators, only five published their declarations for 2024. In particular, Sagyndyk Lukpanov reported income of 43,760 tenge. The wife of Senator Zakarzhan Kuziyev, Tasmiya Kuziyeva, earned 3.2 million tenge over the year.
In addition:
the wife of Sultan Dyusembinov, Raya Kydyrbayeva, reported income of 5 million tenge in 2024;
the wife of Nurlan Bekenov, Sara Bekenova, reported 11 million tenge;
the wife of Zhanbolat Zhorgenbayev, Daniya Zhorgenbayeva, reported income of 12 million tenge.
According to the document, former Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev and his wife did not receive any additional income.
