Almaty pharmacist organized supply channel for criminal group
Tengrinews.kz — An organized criminal group involved in the illegal distribution of potent substances has been dismantled in Aktobe Region. Law enforcement officials established that the supply network was organized by a pharmacist from Almaty, according to Polisia.kz.
According to the Interior Ministry, a pharmacist at an Almaty pharmacy used her legitimate professional activities to organize the supply of large quantities of potent substances to Aktobe Region.
The group included an organizer, an operator, packagers and individuals who distributed the substances through hidden caches.
During operational and investigative measures, law enforcement officers detained all members of the criminal group.
More than 1,000 pharmaceutical products were seized from illegal circulation.
The Interior Ministry noted that criminal liability for the illegal trafficking of potent substances was introduced in Kazakhstan on January 1, 2026.
“Illegal trafficking of potent substances is punishable by up to 15 years in prison,” said Daniyar Aubakirov, deputy head of a department at the Interior Ministry’s Committee for Combating Drug Crime.
