A Kazakh-Chinese school of artificial intelligence may open in Astana

Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has stated that the government needs to explore opening a Kazakh-Chinese artificial intelligence school in Astana, citing the Akorda press service.
The Head of State emphasized that training the next generation of specialists cannot be separated from school education, stressing the need for a unified system. In this regard, he proposed discussing the feasibility of schooling 18-year-old graduates—as practiced in Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (NIS) and some private schools—taking into account the accelerated physiological development of today’s children.

"I believe the ministry will consider this issue and propose solutions if necessary. Our Constitution provides for a unified school education standard across the country, and this must be taken into account," Tokayev said.

The Head of State noted that the University of Artificial Intelligence will open its doors in September, but in his view, this is not sufficient.

"The government needs to work on opening a Kazakh-Chinese school of artificial intelligence in Astana, given China's extensive experience and achievements in mastering new technologies," Tokayev said.
