5 parties enter Kurultai: how mandates were distributed

Tengrinews.kz – The Central Election Commission (CEC) explained how seats were distributed among the political parties that entered the Kurultai following the election.
Following the elections held in Kazakhstan on August 23, five political parties entered the Kurultai. The mandates were distributed as follows:

Adilet Party – 110 mandates;
National Social Democratic Party (NSDP) – 8 mandates;
Auyl People's Democratic Patriotic Party – 10 mandates;
Ak Zhol Democratic Party of Kazakhstan – 8 mandates;
Respublica Party – 9 mandates.

As a reminder, elections of Kurultai deputies were held on Sunday, August 23, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. According to the Central Election Commission, preliminary voter turnout as of 8:00 p.m. stood at 74.19 percent.
A total of 9,352,151 people voted.

August 23 — election day
On July 1, 2026, Kazakhstan’s new Constitution, adopted in a nationwide referendum on March 15, entered into force. After that, the Mazhilis and Senate ceased operating and their deputies were dismissed.
The new Constitution provides for a unicameral Parliament — the Kurultai. It will consist of 145 deputies elected for five-year terms.
Kazakhstan held its Kurultai parliamentary election on August 23. However, the formation of the new legislative body will not be the only political change in the country. Political analysts told a Tengrinews.kz correspondent what transformations await Kazakhstan’s system of government after the election and what the next stages will be.
