Traffic on Al-Farabi Avenue will be temporarily restricted in Almaty

Tengrinews.kz — Traffic patterns on certain sections of Al-Farabi Avenue in Almaty will change temporarily on August 16 due to the Gran Fondo World Championship for amateur and veteran cyclists. This was announced by the city's sports department.
Traffic is expected to be temporarily restricted from 05:30 to 06:40 on the section of Al-Farabi Avenue between Dostyk Avenue and the Talgar Highway.
Additionally, from 05:30 to 10:30, restrictions will be in effect on Al-Farabi Avenue from Dostyk Avenue to Navoi Street.

The restrictions are being implemented to ensure the safety of competitors and other road users. Drivers are asked to plan their routes in advance, taking the temporary closures into account.
As a reminder, Almaty will host the Gran Fondo World Championship on August 16. About 1,000 amateur athletes from more than 20 countries are expected to participate, with prepared race distances of 95, 50, and 37 kilometers.The start and finish lines will be located at 40 Al-Farabi Avenue.
Current road closures in Almaty

From 23:00 on August 11 until 23:00 on August 15, reversible traffic lanes will be introduced on the section from the city limits to Dauletkerey Street.
From 16:00 to 00:00 on August 14, along Abay Avenue and Satpayev Street from Baizakov Street to Seifullin Avenue, as well as on Baitursynov Street from Shevchenko Street to Timiryazev Street.
