Almaty residents felt earthquake
Tengrinews.kz — Almaty residents are reporting tremors, according to posts on social media.
According to data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake was recorded in Kyrgyzstan at 12:14 p.m. Astana time on August 12. The quake occurred at a depth of about 6 kilometres.
The epicentre was located approximately 127 kilometres southeast of Bishkek and 71 kilometres northwest of Naryn.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan’s Emergency Ministry reported that tremors of intensity 2 were felt in Almaty. No casualties or damage have been reported.
