“I’ve never seen anything like this”: weather apocalypse hits Astana — video
After 2:00 p.m., the storm swept across both the right and left banks of the capital. The light drizzle that had been falling since morning turned into a real weather apocalypse.

On social media, residents and visitors of the capital are sharing photos and videos of the bad weather, as well as their impressions.
“What was that just now? What kind of apocalypse was that? I have never seen anything like it in my life,” one local resident wrote.
Meanwhile, residents of some residential complexes are reporting power outages. Tengrinews.kz has requested comment from Astana-REC.
Huge puddles formed on the roads. In some apartment buildings, entrance halls were flooded.
The day before, forecasters had warned of worsening weather in Astana. According to Kazhydromet, rain and thunderstorms are expected at times in the capital on July 23, with hail possible during the day. Northerly and northeasterly winds are expected at 9–14 meters per second. Daytime temperatures are forecast at +23...+25°C.
Tomorrow, partly cloudy weather is expected in the capital, with rain and thunderstorms at times. The wind will be northerly at 9–14 meters per second. Temperatures will be +14...+16°C at night and +25...+27°C during the day.
