WASHINGTON — Grasping for some response in the wake of the worst mass shooting in the nation’s history, U.S. senators voted Monday on four proposals to prevent guns from landing in the wrong hands. Each proposal, as expected, failed to meet the minimum support needed to advance in the Capitol Hill legislative process.
