Poverty cannot be eliminated overnight, President Aquino said yesterday as he spoke on the government’s efforts to improve the lives of poor Filipinos and create job opportunities in the past six years. “Hindi ho kayang gawin ng gobyerno ‘no, na isang dikta lang. Ngayon mahirap ka, bukas mayaman ka (The government cannot make a poor person rich the next day),” Aquino said at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) assembly in Taguig City. “Pero kayang gawin ng gobyerno tulungan ka para maisagad lahat ng oportunidad na nandiyan naman para mapagsamantalahan ng ating mga kababayan.
