I had the distinct honor of attending a dress rehearsal for "Porgy and Bess" and having a conversation with Professor Eugene "Sportin’ Life" Pinson, retired music educator, (S.C. State University), who along with my parents and godsister, performed in the 1970 production. I would like to comment on several things:
