The Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday revealed that the Pilot Indigenous Peoples (IP) Voting conducted in all the 23 pilot voting centers in Oriental and Occidental Mindoro last Monday was successful. Photo courtesy of Tumblr In a statement, Comelec said a total of 2,878, IP voter beneficiary, the partial voter turn was around 90 percent or 2,587 voters. For Oriental Mindoro, there were 14 voting centers with Separate Polling Places (SPP), and two with Accessible Voting Centers (AVC). For Occidental Mindoro, there were four voting centers with SPP, and three with AVC. SPP are polling places in established voting centers that catered solely to qualified IP voters while AVC are newly established voting centers that are situated near IP communities.
