Torregoza President Aquino will lead today the posthumous awarding of 44 slain Special Action Force (SAF) members in a ceremony at Camp Crame, Quezon City, marking the first anniversary of the SAF’s anti-terrorist operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao that ended in tragedy and controversy. The event, to be highlighted by the giving of the highest police award for combat to two SAF commandos, will also be an occasion for the President to renew government’s commitment to bring to justice those behind the killing of the elite members of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Malacañang said yesterday.
