Tokayev received the Chairman and CEO of General Atlantic
Tengrinews.kz - The Head of State received William Ford, Chairman and CEO of General Atlantic, according to Akorda.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for investment cooperation, the development of Kazakhstan’s technology sector and the country’s artificial intelligence ecosystem.
Note: General Atlantic is a leading U.S.-based global investment firm specializing in providing capital and strategic support to fast-growing technology and innovation companies. Founded in 1980, it manages tens of billions of dollars in assets and focuses on five key sectors: technology, financial services, healthcare, consumer, and climate technologies. General Atlantic’s portfolio has at various times included global companies such as ByteDance, Airbnb, Uber, Shein and Klarna.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that artificial intelligence and digital transformation are among the country’s key development priorities. In this context, he emphasized the importance of attracting leading global investors and technology companies to implement new projects.
The President spoke about the development of a technology ecosystem in Kazakhstan bringing together Astana Hub, the Alem.ai International Artificial Intelligence Center and Qazaq AI Research University.
According to the Head of State, the development of this ecosystem is helping create technology companies capable of competing globally, including Higgsfield AI.
William Ford, in turn, briefed Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on General Atlantic’s investment opportunities in fast-growing companies in fintech, e-commerce, software and artificial intelligence, as well as in energy and digital infrastructure.
The parties also paid particular attention to the Data Center Valley project in Ekibastuz, which is aimed at creating a major infrastructure platform for artificial intelligence, cloud computing and digital services. General Atlantic is currently expressing concrete interest in participating in the project.
Earlier, Tokayev was briefed on new projects in AI and digitalization. As part of the international AI & Digital Bridge 2026 IT forum, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited an exhibition of promising projects in artificial intelligence, digital technologies and robotics.
The Head of State also discussed prospects for cooperation with NVIDIA Vice President Rev Lebaredian.
