“High level of personal culture” – Tokayev on world number one Rybakina

Tengrinews.kz — On September 11, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated athletes and coaches on their stellar performance at the World Nomad Games. According to the President, the national team members demonstrated outstanding skill and reaffirmed Kazakhstan's high standing in national sports, citing the Akorda press service.
During his speech, the President highlighted the recent victory of Kazakhstani tennis player Elena Rybakina, who achieved the world number one ranking.

"Just recently, our renowned athlete Elena Rybakina became the world's number one in tennis. This is a truly outstanding achievement. I congratulated Elena Rybakina, noting her hard work, skill, and high level of personal character," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.

The President also stated that today's successes in national sports are the initial results of systematic and consistent work by the government and the relevant ministry. At the same time, according to Tokayev, many challenges remain to be addressed.

As a reminder, while congratulating Elena Rybakina on reaching the top spot, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that reaching number one in the WTA rankings is the pinnacle of the sport. The President wished Rybakina to maintain her championship mindset and confidently pursue new milestones.

"Reaching the top of the WTA rankings is a sporting summit conquered through your phenomenal talent, immense hard work, and unwavering self-belief. With this historic achievement, you have brought glory to Kazakhstani sport and inscribed your name in the annals of world tennis," the President's previous congratulatory message stated.

Elena Rybakina became the world number one, topping the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings. This followed her US Open quarterfinal victory over China's Zheng Qinwen. The Kazakhstani player managed to overtake Belarus's Aryna Sabalenka in the rankings.
Later, Elena Rybakina herself spoke emotionally about the significance of this historic achievement for the country. Following her victory, the athlete shared a post on social media.

"Anything is possible if you believe! I am proud to represent Kazakhstan and make history by becoming our country's first world number one," the tennis player wrote.
