Earthquake strikes near Kazakhstan-Kyrgyzstan border
Tengrinews.kz — An earthquake occurred near the border between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
According to the Institute of Seismology of Kyrgyzstan, a magnitude 3.2 earthquake was recorded on August 20 at 10:09 p.m. Astana time. The focus was located at a depth of about 20 kilometers, with an energy class of 8. The intensity at the epicenter was estimated at around 3 points.
Seismologists reported that the earthquake was not felt in Kyrgyzstan. The epicenter was located near the border between the two countries.
As a reminder, overnight on August 20, Kazakh seismologists recorded a magnitude 4.2 earthquake in Kyrgyzstan.
