Asking for 2.4 million: the most “expensive” specialists named by the Ministry of Labor

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population has released the information on job vacancies on the Enbek.kz electronic labor exchange. The ministry also shared data on salary offers and the expectations of Kazakhstanis for July.
Who is seeking the highest salaries
Among job seekers, the highest salary expectations were observed among candidates for the following positions:

pilot — approximately 2.39 million tenge;
flight attendant — approximately 1.43 million tenge;
power plant manager — approximately 1.32 million tenge.

At the same time, the maximum salaries offered by employers in published vacancies were lower. The highest-paying positions were software architect — around 1.12 million tenge, flight safety inspector (around 910,000 tenge), and deputy head of marketing and sales (around 900,000 tenge).
Vacancies down, resumes up
Compared to June, the number of vacancies on Enbek.kz decreased by 3.8 percent, while the number of resumes rose by 11.5 percent.
The Ministry of Labor notes that this trend is typical for the summer period. New graduates are entering the labor market, and seasonal job searches lead to an increase in the labor supply.
The education sector accounted for the most vacancies in July, with 23,400 positions. Employers were also actively seeking staff in the "other services" sector (16,000 vacancies), healthcare and social services (10,300), and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (8,200).
The manufacturing industry posted 6,800 vacancies, while construction saw 5,700.
Where the jobs are
Astana led in the number of published vacancies with 8,800 offers. It was followed by the Turkistan region (7,600), Pavlodar region (7,100), Almaty (7,000), and Akmola region (6,900).
In terms of qualification levels, mid-level specialists were in highest demand, accounting for 38.8 percent of vacancies. The share of low-skilled positions was 30.7 percent, while high-skilled positions made up 30.5 percent.
Who is searching for work most actively
More than half of all resumes—54 percent—were posted by seekers under the age of 35. The share of candidates aged 35–44 was 25 percent, those aged 45–54 accounted for 14 percent, and those over 55 represented 7 percent.
Regarding gender, women predominated among applicants at 57 percent, while men accounted for 43 percent of resumes.
Since the beginning of 2024, 709,000 vacancies and 877,200 resumes have been posted on Enbek.kz.
