Fallen trees and apricot-sized hail: Weather apocalypse hits Ust-Kamenogorsk
Severe weather and its aftermath
Gale-force winds with gusts up to 28 meters per second and heavy rain have caused significant disruption across the city. Portions of Ust-Kamenogorsk experienced temporary power outages, with blackouts recorded in the village of Akhmirovo, the 19th micro-district, the airport area, Shmelev Log, the Bolashaq micro-district, and other neighborhoods.
The storm also uprooted trees and flooded local roads.
Footage showing the impact of the storm has been circulating on social media.

Residents also shared photos and videos of hail, with some stones reaching the size of apricots.

According to Kazhydromet, the city had received 20.5 millimeters of precipitation as of 5:00 PM.

Current situation in the city
According to the city administration (akimat), electricity had been restored in several districts by 6:00 PM.
"Municipal and emergency services are working in high-alert mode. Crews are clearing fallen trees, pumping water from flooded areas, and restoring power supplies," the akimat reported.
A total of 270 personnel and 41 units of specialized equipment are involved in the emergency recovery efforts.
"An additional 85 workers from the Territorial Management Center are continuously clearing courtyards and streets of fallen trees and large branches," the administration added.

Note.According to the latest power supply update from the akimat, electricity has been restored in the Bolashak district, parts of Akhmirovo village, the 19th micro-district, the villages of Kulenovka and Ulbinsky, and the areas of the Airport, Novaya Sogri, Kirzavod, and Babkina Melnitsa. Service is also back on Bazhov, Rabochaya, and Michaelis streets, as well as in several garden associations including Vityaz, Metallurg-5, Podsnezhnik, and Izumrud. Repairs continue at the substation located at 331/2 Bazhov Street.
The city administration previously urged residents to observe safety measures, avoid going outdoors until weather conditions stabilize, and stay away from trees and power lines.
