Proposed Changes
The Ministry of Health has prepared amendments to the rules for providing the public service of informing citizens about their participation in the Mandatory Social Health Insurance (MSHI) system.
Kazakhstanis will be able to check their insurance status more quickly, obtain information on coverage periods, and verify details regarding contributions and payments made on their behalf.
The service can be accessed electronically via the eGov.kz e-government portal.
This means citizens can check their insurance status and payment records at any convenient time without having to visit government offices in person..
Current Enrollment Numbers
According to the Ministry of Health, there are currently 17.5 million participants.
"The MSHI system provides insured citizens with access to a wide range of medical care, regardless of the amount of contributions paid or their social status," the ministry noted.
The list of services includes:
preventative check-ups,consultative and diagnostic assistance,specialized medical care in outpatient, day-hospital, and inpatient settings,high-tech medical services,medical rehabilitation,provision of medicines under current legislation.
