Thunderstorms, hail and dust storms to hit Kazakhstan
According to the forecast, unstable weather will persist across Kazakhstan in the coming days due to an active cyclone and atmospheric frontal systems.
Where heavy rain is expected
Forecasters say unstable weather will continue in most parts of the country.
Heavy rain is forecast:
July 4 — in the northwest of the country;
July 4–5 — in the southeast and central regions;
July 5–6 — in eastern Kazakhstan;throughout the entire period — in the north of the republic.
“Strong winds, hail and squalls are expected across the country. Dust storms are forecast in southern Kazakhstan, while fog is expected in the north of the republic at night and in the morning,” the statement said.
Heat to intensify to 40 degrees
Despite the rain, temperatures are expected to rise gradually in most regions of the country. During the day on July 5–6, intense heat of up to 35–39°C is expected in western and central Kazakhstan, up to 40°C in the southwest, and up to 35°C in the northwest. Intense heat of up to 35–37°C will persist in the east throughout the entire period.
