Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signs several new laws
Tengrinews.kz – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed several new laws, according to Akorda’s press service.
The Head of State signed the law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Issues Related to the Activities of Special State Bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
As previously reported, the document was developed to further improve legislation in the area of service in special state bodies. The amendments concern the rules for entering, serving in and terminating service. An important section includes measures to strengthen social protection and improve working conditions for employees, which is expected to increase the overall efficiency of the agencies in the future.
The President also signed the law “On Ratification of the Agreement on the Unified Customs Transit System of the Eurasian Economic Union and a Third Party or Third Parties.”
The implementation of the document is aimed at increasing cargo traffic, developing transport routes through Kazakhstan, and strengthening the country’s competitiveness as a transit hub.
In addition, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the law “On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Sultanate of Oman on the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Tax Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income and Capital, and the Protocol thereto.”
The agreement is intended to strengthen and expand economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Oman and create favorable conditions for investment. In particular, it concerns the elimination of double taxation of income for legal entities and individuals who are residents of the two countries.
