Could this be the new croughnut? Word has it that people just can’t get enough of this “golden donut” that’s in every New Yorker’s wish list. And the twist? It has ube (purple yam) filling that’s made by Fil-Am restaurant owners. Manila Social Club, a fine-dining fusion Filipino cuisine restaurant based in Brooklyn, New York, posted in its official Instagram account a photo of its newest doughnut variant. “The Golden Cristal Ube Doughnut” is garnished with icing made of Cristal champagne and filled with ube mousse, champagne jelly, and covered with 24k of gold. The luxurious dessert costs $100 per piece or $1,000 per dozen. People are also lining up for Manila Social Club’s Ube Bae Donut, which sells for $40 a dozen.
