What kind of a political party brings up parents of a soldier who was killed 12 years ago? We can bring up anything from the past. Couldn’t they find a more current family? And shame on the family for allowing themselves to be used as political pawns.

We all know the spoiler story about the 2000 election with Ralph Nader and Al Gore. Some Democrats are still sore about it. Bernie Sanders supporters aren’t sure how to vote right now. Many dislike Hillary but fear any other vote helps Trump. The question is: When is it justified to vote for a third party candidate?
Thank you for your editorial, "Give Summerville voters their say." The referendum is the only way to resolve the conflict between the old Summerville families — who have benefitted greatly from the town’s growth and want that to continue — and the old Summerville families who have not been on the receiving end.
