A Swiss man has been detained in Nepal, the foreign ministry has confirmed. The man is suspected of having sexually abused a minor. The German-language paper Blick reported in its Saturday edition that a 66-year-old man, who was responsible for a training project in the Langtang region in Nepal, had been arrested. The report cited Nepalese police who made the arrest on Friday. On Saturday, the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) confirmed to the Swiss News Agency (SDA-ATS) the arrest had been made but gave no further details due to privacy considerations. Blick writes that the Swiss suspect had confessed to having sexually abused a 16-year-old boy in a hotel. The man is said to own several schools in the region, co-financed by Swiss sponsors.
