JD Vance defends Erika Kirk after she skipped rally over death threats
Vice President JD Vance responded to Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, skipping her moderating role at a Turning Point USA rally in Athens, Georgia due to serious threats.
TPUSA's Andrew Kolvet informed Vance of Kirk's absence, characterizing the threats as reflecting poorly on the nation's state.
Vance expressed concern the event might be canceled and criticized those attacking Erika, "If you're going after Erika Kirk and not the people who are trying to destroy the United States of America, you are part of the problem, not part of the solution!"
Separately, CNN's "NewsNight" panel erupted after MAGA podcaster Emily Austin criticized Michelle Obama's remark about being "proud of how people are responding to this administration," connecting it to Charlie Kirk's death.
Host Abby Phillip countered that Michelle was exercising constitutional speech rights against the Trump administration.
