Police in Rotterdam are treating a fire at the entrance of a synagogue as arson, and the blaze ended quickly. Police said nobody was hurt and they asked witnesses to come forward. Police said early Friday morning that officers responded and no arrests followed. Jewish groups and lawmakers condemned the attack. Chanan Hertzberger of the Central Jewish Council says antisemitism has grown more open and more threatening. Justice Minister David van Weel says authorities monitor synagogue safety and communities must feel safe. Synagogues have tightened security since the Feb. 28 Iran war.
