Saudi Cabinet Condemns Iranian Attacks, Affirms Right To Defend Kingdom

Saudi Arabia’s cabinet on Tuesday strongly condemned Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom, Gulf states and other countries in the region, saying they threaten regional security and violate international law.

The cabinet session, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman via videoconference, reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s right to take all necessary measures to protect its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The ministers also praised the performance of the Kingdom’s air defenses in intercepting and destroying missiles and drones that attempted to target sites and facilities in the country.

The crown prince briefed the cabinet on recent phone calls with leaders of several countries as part of ongoing consultations on regional developments and their impact on regional and international stability.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Media Minister Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossari said the cabinet also reviewed Saudi Arabia’s efforts to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Gulf and Arab partners to address current regional challenges.

The cabinet welcomed statements issued by recent meetings between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union, as well as the Arab League, which condemned the Iranian attacks.

The cabinet further noted the upcoming Saudi Flag Day on March 11, describing it as a symbol of the Kingdom’s history, national identity and founding principles.
