Nonstop Iranian missile fire has sent residents of central Israel scrambling in and out of shelters throughout the day. Iran began firing the missiles early Saturday in response to a U.S.-Israeli attack. Racing to shelters has become a familiar ritual for Israelis over the past two and a half years. On Saturday, residents in Tel Aviv's Jaffa area packed into a public shelter. Muslim families, religious Jews and even dogs squeezed inside. Some people played cards and shared snacks. Others fasted for Ramadan and scrolled for updates on their phones. Residents say the constant running wears people down. They also describe small moments of solidarity.
