Canadian police say eight people including the suspect are dead after a shooting at a small school in British Columbia, with two more found dead at a home believed to be connected to the incident. Police say more than 25 people were injured, including two with life-threatening injuries. Royal Canadian Mounted Police say they have identified the suspect, but did not release the name, adding that the shooter's motive remains unclear. The town of Tumbler Ridge is more than 600 miles north of Vancouver, and the provincial government website lists Tumbler Ridge Secondary School as having 175 students from Grades 7 to 12. It was Canada’s deadliest rampage since 2020, when a gunman in Nova Scotia killed 13 people and set fires that left another nine dead.
