The Trump administration is threatening to pull federal funding for public transportation in Chicago unless the city tightens security after a man allegedly set a woman on fire inside a commuter train in November. Federal Transit Authority Administrator Marc Molinaro sent a letter Monday to Mayor Brandon Johnson and Gov. JB Pritzker demanding the Chicago Transit Authority implement updated security plans by Dec. 19. Messages were left with the mayor and governor's offices and the CTA on Tuesday morning. According to federal prosecutors, Lawrence Reed was riding a train on Nov. 17 when he doused fellow passenger Bethany MaGee with gasoline, chased her through the car and set her on fire. Reed has been charged with committing a terrorist attack.
