The Nation's Weather for Saturday, January 4, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A glaze of ice will bring slippery conditions and difficult
travel to parts of Kansas and western Missouri today. The
same winter storm will also produce accumulating snow from
the Rockies to the Dakotas. Meanwhile, cold winds rushing
over the Great Lakes will continue to produce lake-effect
snow, especially from Michigan to northern Ohio, western
Pennsylvania and New York. Heavy bands of snow in this area
can bring sudden drops in visibility and difficult travel
conditions. A storm in the Northwest will bring rain showers
to western parts of Oregon and Washington, as well as some
snow in the Cascades. The southern tier of the country is
expected to be dry except for a few showers near the
Louisiana Gulf Coast.
