NATIONAL SUMMARY
In the Northeast, it will be turning milder with snow and
ice early in the day today. Snow could linger in eastern New
England. In the Mississippi Valley, rain will extend from
Missouri to Texas. In Texas and Arkansas, heavy rain and
thunderstorms can lead to flooding, especially in low-lying
and poor drainage areas. Meanwhile, a little rain will
extend inland along the coast of the Carolinas. Elsewhere,
another storm moving through the West will spread rain and
mountain snow from Washington to Central California. In
Central and Northern California, heavy rain may lead to
flash flooding. In the Sierra Nevada, heavy snow will create
slippery roads and disruptions for holiday travelers.
Temperatures will be mild in the Plains with abundant
sunshine.
