Global shares are mostly higher after technology stocks pulled Wall Street to another record finish. Benchmarks rose in early Tuesday trading in France, Germany and Britain, while finishing higher in Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Oil prices also rose. U.S. shares were set to drift slighlty higher with Dow futures and S&P 500 futures up less than 0.1%. Some analysts think Japanese stocks could end up benefiting from President-elect Donald Trump’s latest threats to raise tariffs on China and other countries. During the weekend, Trump threatened 100% tariffs against a group of developing economies, including China and Brazil.
