NATIONAL SUMMARY
Periods of light rain can mix with snow across much of the
Great Lakes and Ohio River Valley into the Appalachians
today. Periods of snow can fall from near Lake Michigan to
the central Appalachians and can potentially accumulate on
grassy surfaces. Steadier rain is expected to fall over much
of New England. In the West, north of the San Francisco Bay,
heavy, steady rain can fall much of the day across Northern
California and into southwestern Oregon. More intermittent
rain and drizzle are expected elsewhere in Oregon and
Washington. Spotty snow showers can cover much of the
Bitterroots and the higher terrain of Montana. The Southeast
will largely be dry, chillier and breezy. The Midwest is
expected to be windy throughout much of the day.
