Amazon driver ‘lobs’ parcel at customer’s pet cat
A fuming mum has slammed Amazon after a delivery driver lobbed a parcel at her cat.
Jodie Dobson watched the shocking moment after it was captured on her Ring doorbell camera while she was out of the home.
The man knocked at the front door of their home in Bradford, West Yorkshire, on August 16, but when nobody answered he hurled the package – a tin of Uno cards – towards the wheelie bin.
But nine-year-old cat Grayson was seen running away after being startled by the package.
The courier was seen going to pick up the parcel again, before putting it down closer to the door. Amazon has launched an investigation into the matter.
Jodie, 30, said: ‘He thought it was a good idea to throw my parcel at the cat. Obviously he didn’t know he was caught on camera. I was shocked when I saw it.’
Though Jodie went to complain to Amazon, she said they weren’t very ‘helpful’ and ‘didn’t seem to want to take it seriously’.
She added: ‘They said they’d get back to us but never did. I was on hold for 20 mins and then they put the phone down. They then told us they’d make sure that their drivers didn’t throw parcels again.’
Married, mum-of-three Jodie said Grayson, nine, is a very jumpy cat. She explained: ‘Grayson is usually fine, he is a very jumpy and shy cat. He usually avoids people where he can.’
An Amazon spokesperson said: ‘We have very high standards for our delivery service providers. And expect every package to be handled with care. We are looking into this.’
