NATIONAL SUMMARY
Heavy afternoon and evening thunderstorms will spread over
parts of the Midwest and Ohio Valley today. Thunderstorms
may bring flooding downpours and damaging wind gusts. There
may be an isolated tornado or two from western Kentucky into
southern Michigan. Across the Southeast and Gulf Coast, it
will be humid with spotty afternoon thunderstorms. An area
of high pressure will continue to promote generally dry and
hot weather across the Plains and Southwest. There will be
spotty thunderstorms across the terrain of Colorado, Arizona
and New Mexico. Some of these thunderstorms may be gusty. It
will remain warm to hot across the interior West while smoke
from nearby wildfires will continue to promote hazy skies.
Some moisture may spill into parts of the Southwest later in
the week, which may bring spotty showers and thunderstorms.
