NATIONAL SUMMARY
Dry weather and warmer conditions will return to the
Northeast and the mid-Atlantic today. Meanwhile, a storm
crossing the center of the nation will bring the risk of
severe thunderstorms from Kansas to Wisconsin, Michigan and
northwestern Ohio. Any thunderstorm will be capable of
producing locally damaging wind gusts and hail. In addition,
the heavy rain from these thunderstorms can lead to flash
flooding. There can be a thunderstorm or two mainly along
the Atlantic and the Gulf coasts in the Southeast while
showers and thunderstorms can be more widespread across
Florida. In the West, heat will continue to build as a zone
of high pressure remains over the region. Spotty afternoon
thunderstorms can occur across southeastern Utah, Colorado,
New Mexico and eastern Arizona.
