The A-list stars opted for sandals for this year’s amFAR Cannes Gala, which was presented by Chopard And Red Sea International Film Festival and held at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc on Thursday.
The event is a part of the numerous festivities that take place during the annual Cannes Film Festival, which showcases films of all genres that are shown across a number of events, and brings out the best of the best in terms of celebrities. The festival is responsible for many hot-topic red carpets and photocalls globally, which often spark many viral social media fashion moments. The amfAR Gala, in particular, is recognized for its international benefit galas, which raise vital funds for research and much-needed visibility for the fight against HIV/AIDS.
While a number of footwear styles were showcased during the event, which was first hosted by the late amfAR cofounder Elizabeth Taylor and carries on in her memory, sandals seemed to be what the celebs were going for when it came to their shoe choices during this year’s gala as the likes of 2024 host Demi Moore, Paris Jackson, Leomie Anderson and more elected to wear elevated sandals.
Host Demi Moore chose a pair of satin strappy sandals from Aquazzura. The shoes were made with nappa leather material, featured a singular medium-sized strap on the slightly sharp angular toe box and were completed by a stiletto heel measuring between 4 to 5 inches.
Paris Jackson hit the red carpet in a pair of strappy platform sandals, which featured a split strap across the toe box and a platform base measuring roughly 2 inches. The silhouette was rounded out about a slim black ankle strap with a buckle, and finished with a medium-sized heel ranging between 3 to 4 inches.
Leomie Anderson donned a pair of strappy stilettos, which featured a thick strap across the toe box, and two strap that criss-crossed across the ankle. Crafted with leather material, the shoes were finished by a stiletto heel ranging between 3 to 4 inches based the Anderson’s previous footwear preferences for major events.
Lara Lieto was seen in a pair of open-back stilettos that included an angular toe box and two bedazzled straps across the upper part of the shoe and the mid-foot respectively.
Heidi Klum was also seen in a pair of pink open-back satin stilettos that featured a pink satin strap across the precise triangle toe box, and sharp stiletto heel that clocked in-between 3 and 4 inches.
Wallis Day chose a sharp pair of pointed-toe stilettos that were constructed in leather, and featured a triangular toe box completed by straps that extended into her ankle. The shoes were completed by a stiletto heel that measured approximately 3.5 inches in height.
