THE Masterchef final three have been revealed after a tense semi-final tonight saw the cooks battle it out to secure a spot.
Abi, 22, from Leeds, was knocked out of the competition at the final hurdle after failing to impress John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
It means that farmer Louise, 44, circus performer Chris, also 44, and vet surgeon Brin, 29, sailed through to the final tomorrow night.
The three lucky chefs will have to cook up a storm ahead of the final decision at the end of the show, which airs at 8pm on BBC One.
And they’re promising to pull out all the stops to make sure that they are the one to lift the coveted trophy.
Louise is keen to get out her skydiving gear for a spectacular show-stopper, while Brin is promising big flavours.
And Chris hopes to take the judges on a journey with his food ‘art’.
Louise, from Exmoor National Park, thinks she has what it takes to take home the Masterchef trophy – thanks to a hidden skill.
The farmer, who is married to a military helicopter pilot called Ally, has kept her hobby – free-fall skydiving – quiet on the series.
But her dream would be to serve up her final dish to John and Gregg after jumping 10,000 feet out of a plane.
She told The Sun: “I have been freefall skydiving for 14 years and I would love to serve the judges their food having done a pinpoint, textbook landing at their table.
“Think Milk Tray man, or James Bond style!”
She added of her time in the kitchen: “I thought I’d be more nervous than I was, but I surprised myself and when I was cooking the nerves went.
“I entered MasterChef to have an adventure and to learn as much as I possibly could from the other contestants, judges and chefs and I feel as though I’ve done that.
“Of course, it would be lovely to win, but I’ve already achieved more than I thought possible.”
Essex-born Brin has high hopes that he will be the one to scoop the Masterchef crown, and take it back to Bristol.
The vet has been heavily influenced by his Sri Lankan roots, and thanks his family for passing down their passion for flavour.
And he’s got no plans to shy away from the unusual flavour combinations when it comes to the final.
He said: “I need to stick to my strengths in the final cook – give them unusual flavour combinations and lots of elements that just seem to come together to create dishes that work.
“The competition has taught me that my hidden talent is probably getting a huge amount done in a short period time under a pretty hefty amount of pressure.”
He said of his hopes to win: “I really feel like I’m ready to dive deep into the world of food and make a career out of it.
“Winning the competition would definitely give me the confidence boost I need to fully immerse myself in this world.”
Oxfordshire man Chris wants judges John and Gregg to pick him as the winner – and has plans to present art on a plate.
He said: “My hidden talent is the ability to transport people visually to a place using the food – to show them how my mind works in making a dish.
“I am an artist at heart, so I like to make those eating my food question what is going on, to provoke conversations.
“Just like theatre, painting, performance there can be used to make people think deeply, so can cooking.”
If he takes home the trophy, Chris has high hopes that Masterchef won’t be the last time he’s seen on TV.
He added: “Winning the show would mean the world to me.
“I simply cannot fire breathe forever. It’s time to evolve my passion for food and theatre in a new direction.
“I would like to make TV in the form of travel documentaries, scouring far distant places and cultures and learning about their food and diets.”
