NATIONAL SUMMARY
Thunderstorms in North Carolina, South Carolina, southern
Georgia and the Florida Panhandle will be capable of
producing flash flooding and damaging winds today. Damaging
winds on a more localized basis could accompany
thunderstorms as far west as southern Louisiana. Farther
north, flash flooding will be the main hazard in
south-central Alabama and central Georgia. Heat and humidity
will be dangerous for those without power in southeastern
Texas. Afternoon thunderstorms will dot the Sierra Nevada
and the mountains of Utah and Colorado. Spotty afternoon
thunderstorms are also expected in eastern Minnesota and
western Wisconsin. A few showers will dampen parts of
Washington, northwestern Oregon, northern Idaho and
northwestern Montana.
