In a series of Instagram stories, Jodie Boland (@jodieboland) revealed the beauty brands she used on the models for their recently released covers.

Editor-in-chief MJ Day said Upton’s cover became “a catalyst for the evolution of the brand.”
Reflecting on her first cover with Sports Illustrated, Upton recalled the shift in the conversation on the body positivity movement.
“After my first cover with [SI Swimsuit] in 2012, it really started this conversation about body positivity and inclusivity,” Upton said.
“When I look back at my first cover, I see how young I was, and I also can’t help but be taken back to that massive moment [when] that cover launched and that conversation of my body and what my body was.”
Upton is joined by Hunter McGrady, Chrissy Teigen, and first-timer Gayle King for Sports Illustrated’s 2024 Swimsuit Issue covers.
Teigen, mother-of-four, rocks a low-cut orange one-piece ten years after her last cover appearance.
“Chrissy Teigen represents the new generation of model moguls,” MJ Day said in a press release.
Hunter McGrady shot this year’s cover just eight months after giving birth and seven years after her debut in the Swimsuit Issue.
Her first Sports Illustrated cover, the mother opened up about the experience in a PEOPLE interview.
“It was such a surreal moment,” McGrady said to PEOPLE.
“I automatically thought back to little me and what that would mean to me, seeing somebody like me on the cover of any magazine, let alone Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. It’s huge.”
“I was just about eight and a half months postpartum when I shot this cover,” McGrady added.
“And I was just like, ‘I want my daughter to see this one day. I want the next generation to see this. I want our generation to see this.’”
69-year-old journalist Gayle King delivered “tasteful cleavage” on her first cover and even admitted to eating a burger right before her shoot.
“The day before, I did have a cheeseburger,” she said to PEOPLE. “It’s one of my favorite things. I did think that I would reduce my eating, but I didn’t even do that.”
“I said to MJ, ‘God, now I’m going to have to start starving myself,’ and she said, ‘Absolutely do not do that. We don’t want you to change anything that you’re doing.’ I said, ‘Really? I don’t have to starve myself?’ and she said, ‘Please, we want you to do exactly what you’re doing.'”
