FROM rude customers to long hours, we’ve all get pet hates that we can’t stand when it comes to our jobs.
And a nursery worker, known only as Kit Kat, was eager to vent about the things she strongly dislikes about hers.
A nursery worker has revealed the three types of parent she can’t stand[/caption] The woman also told how about the type of lunch that leaves her raging[/caption]In a clip shared to TikTok (@kitkat200030), she reveals the “things I’ve learnt to hate as a childcare practitioner.”
First up, she begins with a type of food that toddlers often have for lunch that proves a nightmare for her to clean up.
Any guesses?
“Couscous for lunch,” she says, revealing the dreaded food of choice.
“It’s so hard to clear up and goes everywhere.”
As soon as that clock hits home time, many of us are straight out of the door ready to head home to kick back and relax for the evening.
So it’s little surprise the nursery worker revealed that the second type of parent that really grinds her gears are those than hold her up from doing just that.
“When parents come five minutes before closing and expect a full on chat,” she says.
And last but not least, she says that she also can’t stand it when parents bring their children in poorly and give them Calpol before nursery.
She captioned the post: “Most annoying things about the job.”
It wasn’t long before the post went viral, racking up a whopping 85k views and several comments – with very mixed opinions.
“As a nursery nurse and mum I have given my child Calpol to go nursery/school as like most parents we can’t afford time off work school will now give Calpol too if needed,” she wrote.
A second penned: “The last one grinds my gears.
“My little one has been back at nursery for a week after the Easter holidays and is already poorly.”
“If your child is poorly enough to need Calpol, they shouldn’t be in!” commented a third.

“Teething is different of course but what gets me is parents not mentioning Calpol being given. It wears off like 4hr later!”
Another added: “Plenty of times I had to run off the bus to make it in time to get my child due to traffic, trust me I didn’t want to get there that late but it happens.”
Elsewhere, other nursery workers shared their top tips to dealing with the messy cous cous issue.
“I used to scatter a bit of the play sand on the floor before sweeping. It makes the cous cous easier to sweep – also works with rice,” suggested one.
A second agreed: “Sand on the floor over cous cous or rice will sweep up easily then!”
And another chimed in: “Use sand for rice and couscous! Lifesaver!”
