BJP candidate is 65-year-old Rao Rajendra Singh, while Congress has bestowed its faith in Anil Chopra, a 35-year-old loyalist of former deputy CM Sachin Pilot. Singh is a seasoned leader who has represented Shahpura twice and was once elected from Viratnagar. He was also deputy speaker in the assembly. However, he was not given a ticket in 2023 after he lost the 2018 assembly election. Chopra, on the other hand, is a greenhorn. Though he was active in student politics, he has not even fought an assembly election.
