Former President Donald Trump took a victory lap Friday after special prosecutor Nathan Wade recused himself from the Georgia racketeering case that remains under the helm of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.
"The Fani Willis lover, Mr. Nathan Wade Esq., has just resigned in disgrace, as per his and her reading of the Judge’s Order today," Trump posted to Truth Social. "BIG STUFF."
Judge Scott McAfee's ruling puts an end to a weeks-long dispute during which Trump's co-defendants tried to prove Willis had committed misconduct during her admitted personal relationship with a special prosecutor she had hired.

Willis went on the offensive on the witness stand — at one point reminding attorneys it was their clients, and not herself, who faced criminal charges — and was ultimately found not to have a conflict of interest in the case.
But McAfee did raise concerns about the appearance of impropriety and said either Wade or Willis would have to step aside. Hours later, Wade resigned.
Trump Friday painted Wade's decision as a victory in his criminal case — he has pleaded not guilty to illegally attempting to overturn Georgia's 2020 presidential election — which can now continue toward trial.
"This is the equivalent of Deranged Jack Smith getting 'canned,'" Trump wrote. "something which should happen in the not too distant future!"
Trump does not explain on what grounds Smith would be recused from either the Florida classified documents or the Washington D.C. election interference case.
While Trump's lawyers accused Smith of misconduct in January, over motions filed during an imposed stay on the Jan. 6 case, Smith quickly slapped back with a staunch rebuttal.
Trump last month levied more accusations against Smith in the classified documents case which legal experts said amounted to normal courtroom bluster and an attempt to stall.
On Friday, Trump expressed his accusations in a less formal tone.
"Nathan was the 'Special,' in more ways than one," Trump wrote on his social network. "Prosecutor 'engaged' by Fani (pronounced Fauni!) Willis, to persecute TRUMP for Crooked Joe Biden and his Department of Injustice, for purposes of Election Interference and living the life of the Rich & Famous."
