PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The Portland Bureau of Transportation is urging people to plan for snow Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
According to PBOT, the National Weather Service told them there is a 50% chance of at least a trace of snow in all areas of the Portland metro region, with the chances and amount of snow increasing with higher elevation.
There are also chances of strong winds reaching up to 40 miles per hour on Thursday, PBOT said.
With the uncertainty surrounding the potential snow, PBOT is warning commuters to make alternative travel plans right now or to be ready to stay home tomorrow if needed.
PBOT recommends that if you do need to travel you should take public transit, and bundle up and be prepared to wait in the cold.
