The Nation's Weather for Sunday, January 28, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A storm intensifying off the mid-Atlantic coastline today
will bring in enough cold air to change rain to snow from
Kentucky and Ohio into central areas of New York and New
England. From coastal southern New England through the coast
of the Carolinas, precipitation will remain in liquid form,
with thunder also expected from the Delmarva Peninsula
southward along the coast as snow persists through the
Appalachians and into eastern Tennessee. However,
thunderstorm coverage will be greater within the Florida
Peninsula as a cold front pushes through the state. In the
West, the latest storm will bring showers and some steadier
rain to the Pacific Northwest, mainly early in the day.
Enormous areas of high pressure will ensure dry conditions
for most of the rest of the nation.
