Pete O’Rourke has revealed in his column on Football Insider that Paris Saint-Germain forward Hugo Ekitike, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the past, could be available on loan in January.
Ekitike was widely seen as one of the best young talents in French football when he first broke through the ranks at Reims.
However, the 21-year-old has not fulfilled his potential since his switch to PSG 18 months ago and he has made just one Ligue 1 appearance under Luis Enrique so far this season (Transfermarkt).
Over the course of 2023, many publications have suggested that Tottenham are eyeing a move for the young centre-forward (Gazetta dello Sport via Sport Witness).
It was suggested by some outlets during the previous summer transfer window that the likes of Spurs and Newcastle were competing for the striker’s signature (But Football) but he remained in Parc des Princes.
O’Rourke has now revealed that Ekitike could leave the Parisians in January, with a move to the Premier League alleged to be on the cards for the France Under-20 international.
The journalist states that the former Reims man could be tempted to try his luck in England and even asserts that he is ‘likely to be available on loan’.
However, O’Rourke makes no mention of Spurs, instead naming West Ham and Newcastle as the two clubs interested in the striker.

Tottenham would likely not be open to signing Ekitike on loan unless PSG are willing to add an option to buy into the deal. The North London club seemingly passed up on Ansu Fati in the summer since Barca were not willing to include a permanent option.
